Richard Hunton, Jr., is the CEO of The Hunton Group and the Hunton Group of companies. He is also the founder and president of Convergentz, an advanced building system integration and networking solutions provider. Convergentz is also a member of the Hunton Group of Companies.
For more than 30 years, The Hunton Group of Companies has provided energy-efficient commercial and residential real estate building solutions to the Greater Houston Area. From high-quality, energy efficient HVAC & Control Systems and Service to financial solutions, The Hunton Group has been working with the construction industry to create comfortable, safe, and energy efficient facilities.
Richard created Convergentz after realizing the tremendous potential of Smart Building systems technology and understanding how owners operate buildings. He envisioned a company that could integrate a building’s entire suite of systems through IT technologies to completely manage and control them through a user-friendly web interface.
Richard Hunton is very active in the Houston commercial building market and a driving force in helping make commercial buildings more energy efficient and sustainable. He is a founding member of the Alliance for Energy, Economic and Environmental Building Solutions, the founding member and Vice Chair of the Houston chapter of the US Green Building Council, and the past president of the Houston chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
Richard’s community affiliations include: Trustee, Ft. Bend County Economic Development Council; Chairman, Lamar Consolidated ISD Career & Technology Education Advisory Council; Texas State Technical College Air Conditioning Department Advisor; and Council, Wharton County Junior College – Ft. Bend Technical Center Advisory Board.
Richard Hunton lives with his wife and two sons in Sugar Land, Texas.
